Advertising
A notary public who is not an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of New York shall not falsely advertise that he or she is an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of New York or in any jurisdiction of the United States by using foreign terms including, but not limited to: abogado, mandataire, procuratore, Адвокат, 律師, and avoca.
A notary public who is not an attorney and who advertises his or her services as a notary public in a language other than English shall include in the advertisement the following disclaimer: “I am not an attorney licensed to practice law and may not give legal advice about immigration or any other legal matter or accept fees for legal advice.” The disclaimer shall be printed clearly and conspicuously and shall be made in the same language as the advertisement.
